Greater Lansing Food Bank’s work getting food to nearly 27,400 mid-Michigan households each month wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and hard work of our volunteers.
Whether you’re sorting and packing food in our warehouse, delivering Weekend Kits for kids, distributing food through a Mobile Food Pantry or helping gardeners with Garden Project, we appreciate you.

May 2025 Volunteer of the Month
Joe Osypczuk has been volunteering with GLFB for many years, and says his favorite part about volunteering is delivering packs of food to elementary schools in East Lansing to help feed children as part of GLFB’s Weekend Kits program.
“It can be hard to believe that so many families in our area, and especially the children, are experiencing food insecurity,” Osypczuk said. “Helping to ensure that they are receiving some food to help ease that worry is something that everyone in our community should look into.”
Osypczuk has been a Rotarian since 1980, working to help improve the lives of people in our community, state, nation and world. He said his involvement there has led him to get involved with the Weekend Kits program at GLFB.
“Volunteering to help end food insecurity in the Greater Lansing area is really a no-brainer,” Osypczuk said. “[GLFB has] many ways in which you can help out.”
