GLFB’s Garden Project — one of the oldest community garden programs in the country — has a long tradition of celebrating the growing season with its annual Garden Tour event. The event consists of three separate tours that occur simultaneously, allowing participants to travel to local community gardens by bus, bike or foot. Each tour showcases how gardens improve health and nutrition, build community and create a more vibrant Lansing.

Plan to join us next year to explore the diversity of Lansing’s gardening scene and meet the gardeners who make it happen.

Garden Tour 2024

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2024 event!

Event details

  • All tours begin and end at the Garden Project Resource Center at 2401 Marcus St. in Lansing’s Foster Park. Join us after the conclusion of your tour for an ice cream treat courtesy of Meijer Capital City Market!
  • Please arrive approximately 15 minutes early, as tours start promptly at 6 p.m.!
  • While the event is free to attend, donations in support of Garden Project’s mission to make garden education and the ability to grow your own fresh, nutritious produce accessible to all can be made here.
  • Bring water, insect repellant and walking shoes, and be sure to dress for the weather.
  • Service animals are welcome, but please leave pets at home — your neighbors’ growing plants thank you!
