Join Greater Lansing Food Bank for the 27th Annual Empty Bowls! Stop by Troppo, located at 111 E Michigan Ave in downtown Lansing, for lunch (11:00am-1:30pm) on Friday, October 13th.
A $20 donation gets you a handmade bowl made by members of Greater Lansing Potters’ Guild and Clayworks Pottery, plus a light meal of soup, bread and water.
Thank you to Troppo for generously sponsoring this year’s event!
Also, as part of this year’s Empty Bowls, we will have 5 special bowls, handcrafted by local sculptor Mark Chatterley, available by silent auction to benefit GLFB! The bowls are on display at Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center and Grove Gallery & Studios. Auction runs September 26 through October 10. Bidding starts at $50.00 and will increase in $5 increments. The winning bidder will receive the Mark Chatterley bowl plus the choice of an additional handcrafted bowl and tasty soup at the Food Bank’s Empty Bowls luncheon. Winners will be contacted by Greater Lansing Food Bank prior to the Empty Bowls’ event.
If interested, please visit either gallery to view bowls and register to bid! Once registered and having placed an initial bid, further bids may be made either in person or by calling the galleries directly (Lansing Art Gallery: 517.374.6400 / Grove Gallery: 517.333.7180).
Thank you to Mark Chatterley Sculpture, Judy Labovitz and Greater Lansing Potters’ Guild, in partnership with Grove Gallery & Studios and Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center, for generously donating these one-of-a-kind bowls!
