Help Make a Bigger Impact This Red Nose Day

“I love my food bag!”

“It’s good, but kinda heavy.”

When Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) was able to expand the distribution of weekend food packs to all 684 students in Larson and Hillsdale Elementary Schools, we were lucky enough to hear and see the excitement of kids who got to take the packs home. These food packs could feed a growing child for two full weekends.

Through GLFB’s We Serve Kids Program, and with the support of those who generously contributed to Red Nose Day 2018, GLFB was able to increase monthly distribution of weekend food packs from 26 students a month to all 684 elementary school-aged children in Harrison Schools during the months of April, May and June.

This Red Nose Day (May 23, 2019), we are asking our communities to take part in making an even bigger impact. Our goal for the 2019-20 school year is for each student to receive two weekend food packs for each month of the school year to ensure that no child is going to a home without food. If, together, we raise the funds needed for this program, you will be a difference maker for kids who can’t help but be excited when they see a Food Bank truck dropping off nutritious weekend meals.
