Volunteering with GLFB
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Greater Lansing Food Bank! This page is for individual volunteers to schedule a volunteer shift. When scheduling your shift, please keep in mind the following:
- All new volunteers will be prompted to complete a brief registration through Volunteer Hub before signing up for a shift. You can do so by clicking the shift you would like to register for in the schedule below and following the instructions provided.
- Warehouse opportunities for activities like food sorting and Weekend Kit building are available 9 – 11 a.m. and 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Late afternoon/early evening and weekend shifts are available with our Mobile Food Pantries and seasonally with Garden Project. You can view full descriptions of all volunteer shift types here.
- All volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.
Volunteer groups
Groups of four or more volunteers should email GLFB’s volunteer program manager, at volunteers@glfoodbank.org. Please include in your group scheduling request the approximate number of people in your group and any date or time preferences. Please provide plenty of time when making a request, as many of our shifts book two to three weeks out.
Court-ordered community service
GLFB is happy to work with volunteers seeking to complete court-ordered community service. You MUST email volunteers@glfoodbank.org for more information specific to court-ordered community service including discussing available opportunities, completing volunteer paperwork and signing up for your shifts.
