SNAP Assistance Program

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the federal food assistance program and the first line of defense against hunger. SNAP benefits are deposited onto a “Bridge Card” every month to be used for purchasing food items at most grocery stores, convenience stores and Farmer’s Markets.

GLFB SNAP specialists are available for in-person assistance through out the seven counties of Clare, Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Ingham, Isabella and Shiawassee. Further details to come!

United Way 2-1-1 Emergency Resource

For 24/7 assistance in locating your nearest emergency food resource, dial 2-1-1. This will connect you to a United Way 2-1-1 call center location. The operator will ask you a few basic questions (family size, location, etc.) and will provide you with the nearest food distribution location.
