‘Tis the season to be giving! The holiday season is a busy time of year for all. At Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB), we are fortunate to have a caring community that always comes together to support our neighbors, friends and families who face hunger, especially during this time of year.
For several years, Delta Dental has held an annual food drive benefiting GLFB and those we serve. Donating thousands of pounds each year, Delta Dental has made a great impact on our community and continues to be one of the largest food drive held in the mid-Michigan area after the National Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. In 2018, Delta Dental donated over 16,000 pounds of food and provided over 13,000 meals to those in need.

“Delta Dental is building healthy, smart, vibrant communities throughout Michigan,” Carmen Argersinger, Manager of Strategic Partnerships at Delta Dental, said. “We believe that partnering with organizations like Greater Lansing Food Bank is one of the best ways to realize this goal. Delta Dental’s annual holiday food drive allows us to address food insecurity and act as a force for good in the region.”
This year, Delta Dental donated over 15,000 pounds of food which will provide more than 14,000 meals throughout the mid-Michigan area. With approximately 1,000 employees, Delta Dental had nearly 100% employee participation in this year’s food drive, Argersinger said.
GLFB is thankful for the continuous support from Delta Dental and their employees, which has directly contributed to our mission of alleviating hunger one meal at a time.
Because of the hard work and dedication of our community partners like Delta Dental, volunteers and partner agencies, we are able to feed people facing hunger in our community. On behalf of those we serve, thank you and have a happy holiday!
