Community Compassion Network, an agency of the Greater Lansing Food Bank in Mount Pleasant, Mich., will be able to host twice-monthly mobile food pantries for the rest of the year after a successful United Way campaign.
“We are fully scheduled throughout the rest of 2014,” said CCN Interim Director Faye Schaeffer. “We have the funding for all of those pantries.”
With purchasing power through the GLFB, the money raised by the 121 individuals and groups through the campaign will cover 133,000 pounds of food, which equates to about 85,000 meals for families.
