This event is FREE and open to all. No registration is required.
Perennial Plant Exchange 2024

Garden Project’s Resource Center | 2401 Marcus St., in Lansing’s Foster Park

Seed garlic distribution: 5 – 7 p.m. (10 heads per person)
Seed Exchange: Please bring extra seeds if you’d like to swap

How the plant exchange works:
6 – 6:15 p.m. | Arrival & Check-in
- Organize your plants and browse the plant selection.
- NOTE: Check-in closes promptly at 6:15 p.m. Those arriving after 6:15 p.m. will not be able to participate in the exchange.
6:25 p.m. | Round 1
- Those who donated one plant may select one plant from the selection.
6:30 p.m. | Round 2
- Those who donated two plants may select a second plant from the exchange.
6:35 p.m. | Round 3 – 10
- Each person in attendance selects a plant from the table. Rounds continue until there are no plants left.
Preparing for the Exchange:
- Carefully divide or dig up the plants you wish to donate. Watch an instructional video here.
- Pot each plant individually.
- Label each plant with one of our labels. Please fill out labels before arriving to the plant exchange.
- Bring a box or crate to help you take your new plants home.
REMEMBER: Garden Project’s Resource Center has garden tools to lend, including digging forks and shovels to make your plant dividing task easier.
