What is the Lansing Roots Summer CSA?

CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture, is a direct partnership between the producer and consumer in the form of a weekly vegetable “subscription,” or agreement. Farmers receive funds from their “shareholders” upfront so that they can purchase the essential resources required to produce the food (seeds, tools, inputs) and then develop a detailed crop plan that is their roadmap for their shareholder’s weekly supply of food. The crops are then grown in accordance to the production plan and distributed on a weekly basis to the shareholders for the length and agreements of the CSA.

The Lansing Roots Summer CSA will extend from mid-June through early November and will have a total of 20 consecutive distributions which will take place on the same day every week. The shares will approximately feed a family of four or two ambitious vegetarians. Lansing Roots offers competitive pricing and significant value. For only $32.50 per week, one can fill the kitchen with produce of top quality. By purchasing up front, members receive a discount on produce as compared to purchasing at the farmers market.
