The gift of food is one of they key ways you can support Greater Lansing Food Bank . We have a variety of ways that you can give food, as either a business or individual.

As a business

If your business would like to partner with the GLFB by giving food, we can facilitate your donation in just a few easy steps.

We will need the following information about you and your donation:

  • Business name
  • Contact name
  • Phone number
  • Type of donation (fresh, staples, frozen)
  • Amount of donation
  • Location of donation

You can email the information to Todd Powell, our Food Resources Manager, at todd@glfoodbank.org. He will then call you to confirm the final details of the donation. Or call the GLFB warehouse at 517-908-3680 and we will assist you promptly. Note that you and your donation are protected under the Federal Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act.

As an individual

Your donation of fresh, canned or boxed food items is greatly appreciated.

Due to food safety standards, we are unable to accept food that has been prepared in an individual’s home or from a business that is not licensed to process or prepare food.

Call 517-853-7800 or 517-908-3680 to find a pantry near you that accepts food donations. Note that your donation can be covered from liability under The Federal Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act.

Organize a Food Drive

Thank you for supporting the Greater Lansing Food Bank and the communities we serve by holding a food drive!

Holding a food drive is an effective way to help the GLFB fight hunger. Each and every item collected does make a difference.

Consider organizing a food drive in your neighborhood, at your local school, place of worship, service organization or workplace. You can also hold a fund drive for those who prefer to make monetary donations. Get started below!

You can also contact Todd Powell, our Food Resources Manager, at todd@glfoodbank.org / 517.908.3691.
