Lansing Breweries Join the Fight against Hunger throughout September

LANSING, Mich. – Several Lansing area breweries are participating in the statewide “Hops Against Hunger” campaign to provide hunger relief to those in need. Hops Against Hunger coincides with Hunger Action Month, a time when Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) and other organizations raise awareness about food insecurity among families, seniors and children. Participating breweries will host fundraisers to benefit GLFB throughout the month. Details vary by location, and more information can be found by visiting: HopsAgainstHungerMI.org

Participating Lansing breweries include:
HopCat – East Lansing
EagleMonk Pub and Brewery
Ellison Brewery + Spirits
Lansing Brewing Company
Ozone’s Brewhouse

“Breweries are a place where the community congregates to share drinks and meals,” said Daniele Reisbig, Development Manager at GLFB. “Thank you to each of the breweries who have partnered with Greater Lansing Food Bank to raise awareness and funds so that everyone can have access to nutritious food.”

Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) is a non-profit organization that provides emergency food to individuals and families in need in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Shiawassee, Clare, Isabella and Gratiot counties. It raises money, food and in-kind contributions to meet emergency food needs; coordinates and supports the work of area food pantries; rescues wholesome excess food that would otherwise go to waste; promotes, encourages and emphasizes self-help programs toward the goal of self-sufficiency; and educates the community on hunger issues.
